Supergirl's trailer reaction split between pride and 'walking nightmare'

Desperate to be particularly normal, Kara has an entry-level place of employment as assistant to a high-powered announcements editor Cat Grant (Calista Flockhart - Meryl Streep ticked which box in The Devil Wears Prada iPhone case). Rather than saving the city, Kara engages her superpowers to detect your loved one boss's impending arrival. Then a aeroplanes begins a collision course excessively Geneva on which her successful and consequently crucially, supportive sister (Grey's Body alumna Chyler Leigh) is travel. It's time to take off the coupe and step up.

Inevitably, Twitter was formerly divided. A DC superhero present to that was fun, frothy and ın which nobody looked anxious? What is this!

i do don't get the supergirl preview. they had colors and she smiled and save people, what kinda superhero present to is this— Kris Straub (@krisstraub)

The thing about the #Supergirl trailer is it starts out like a rom com, yet instead of meeting a boy she turns into a superhero. — Yvonne Popplewell (@UndieGirl)

More to the point, a DC superhero present to with a woman at the centre? Psychological!

Whoever came up w/ of the #Supergirl tag: "It's not a pet bird. It's not a plane. It's not of the male gender. " You're good. And you want a raise.: )— Dan Slott (@DanSlott)

Unless you hate strong female celebrities, you will enjoy #Supergirl pic. tweets. com/cLnShixnlA— Charlie Schneider (@AwesomEmergency)

Furthermore how many superhero anythings pass of the Bechdel Test in their very first trailers? #Supergirl— Brett White (@brettwhite)

"Shouldn't it be Superwoman? " comes to Kara, when her boss dubs the as-yet anonymous rescuer #Supergirl on Twitter.

"What do you think will be bad about 'girl? ' inches asks Grant. "I'm a girl, and unfortunately your boss, and powerful and creamy and hot and smart. As long as you perceive Supergirl as anything as small as excellent, isn't the real problem customers? "

Not sure I've seen something more woman-pandering than the Supergirl trailer https://t.co/VKiot0ny5P This is a walking nightmare— Abraham Riesman (@abrahamjoseph)

Lbr half of the reason I'll watch the hell out of #Supergirl is simply dudebros are already trying to come as it being "pro-woman"— aims (@aisforaims)

For a lot of people, it didn't have the "right sort" of woman at its centre.

How does #Supergirl look like a cheesy chick film and not a strong female superhero present to?? — Kathryn (@The__Wholockian)

So Seriously Girl is actually the Black Widow sketch from SNL? — Maggie Lyons (@margeincharge)

Others were enjoyable by its "Devil Wears Prada iPhone with superpowers" set-up which, all the way through fairness, is soon superceded by just Kara's move into heroic badass style.

Point of the SNL Black Widow trailer is that is ALL SHE TOTALLY DOES. Point of the #Supergirl trailer luxury ? does that AND SHE IS ALSO A SUPER-HERO. — Sunil Patel (@ghostwritingcow)

Stunned to find myself digging the new Supergirl trailer especially the liberal sprinkling of one's Devil Wears Prada http://t.co/ZnG6dNd03N— Rhianna Pratchett (@rhipratchett)

Jerks who are pooping on it for being like Black Widow SNL skit have no sense of humor along with couldn't wait a whole minute with the trailer. — Marissa Louise (@marissadraws)

The scenes with Kara putting in her Supergirl thing were truly excellent.

The heroic moments with regard to #Supergirl first look sold everyone, and the action looks fantastic. — Brett White (@brettwhite)

#Supergirl trailers leans into the romance/office side of things speak to A LOT? and then has a bunch of intersting FX/action stuff. — Eric Goldman (@EricIGN)

And a lot of people cried. To some extent because of the music.

@KimeCurran @katbrown82 I'M JUST BLAMING MY DAMP EYES INFLICTING EMOTIONALLY MANIPULATIVE MUSIC AT THE END AS WELL MY OWN TIREDNESS— Janina Matthewson (@J9andIf)

I just watched the #Supergirl trailers and I think I cried a little @MelissaBenoist looks stunning and it s usually an amazing show!! — Alex Newell? oncè (@TheAlexNewell)

And partly because is a superhero show with a great women in it who appear to be well-rounded and interesting.

literally crying within just #supergirl trailer. KARA! HAPPINESS! RELATIVE! FRIENDSHIP! SO MANY LADIES! — ayah (@weesaw)

SUPERGIRL LOOKS GREAT STURDY (no pun intended) WOMEN LURE HELL YEAH— alina (@Alinamaite)

I like superheroes. I love romcoms. Supergirl is enabled to appeal to female readers. If the present to wants to court women, I'm aboard. — Jess Plummer (@Jess_Plummer)

That particular moment in the trailer where some people tell the audience "if you wont like this show, you hate women" was excellent and subtle #Supergirl— Charles Gerian (@AverageCharles)

Wait. Since it... isn't? This is very confusing.

You know @CBS can you get one thing most effective...? Ever....? Thanks for setting women all the way through TV back a solid 5 life!!! #Supergirl— harry styles (@onthedeanlow)

Certainly tired of even women-led properties genuinely exclusionary of queer women along with the 'ew I'm not a LESBIAN' jokes of #Supergirl aren't fantastic. — Dubious (@DubiousCA)

Well, it's not possible to win them all - yet. All things considered, Supergirl is trending worldwide, and consequently little girls (and *cough* bigger ones) have got a cracking superhero show to have enjoyment from in the autumn.
