The ANIMATIONS Printed Speaker was designed based shut off a pre-existing speaker's motherboard. Producing use of features such as USB charger, sound in/out, volume control, and a strong on/off switch the Proto3000 workforce was able to design a casing to all features. The clean and a minimum of housing was designed in CAD after which they 3D printed on a MakerBot ANIMATIONS Printer. Once all the components of the exact housing were printed, the subwoofer components were assembled, and stuck into place. The housing , backing, rim, inner panel, in addition to the grill – were snapped with one another and glued for strength.
